Following on from a BSc degree in Psychology, much of Maria’s professional career has been rooted in education, both in the UK and overseas, supporting the physical and emotional health of both children and adults.
Maria’s passion for nutrition and desire to further her knowledge in this area stemmed from her personal experience of trying to support and manage a chronic health condition. Maria was inspired to study nutrition to a professional level after having witnessed first-hand the incredibly powerful role that nutrition and lifestyle choices can play in promoting health.
In 2019 Maria qualified in Nutritional Therapy from the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM). As a registered nutritional therapist Maria offers personalised nutrition consultations, specialising in the following areas;
Promoting mental health, supporting those struggling with depression, anxiety, low mood and general overwhelm
Women’s health, menopause and hormone balancing
In addition to 1:1 consultations, Maria has also delivered a range of health and wellbeing talks and raised money for various charities such as MIND. Topics covered have included ‘Nutrition and Lifestyle Tips’, ‘Promoting Sleep’ and ‘Food for Mood’,
Maria is a qualified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) and is currently training in nutrigenomics, the study of the interactions between genes, nutrients and health.
Her approach with clients is pragmatic, practical yet compassionate and non judgemental. As one client reported “I found Maria to be extremely empathic, wise and professional with a deep wealth of knowledge that she shares in an empowering and accessible way. My health; physical, mental and emotional has improved and continues to improve since our consultations.”
